The Colossus 12MB is intended for use as a very high-output bass mid driver in two-way ported enclosures and also as a bass driver in multiway systems. The unit features a 3-inch voice coil driven by a noninductive motor system which dramatically reduces third-harmonic and intermodulation distortion. The cone membrane, manufactured from Polycellulose, is much stronger and more durable than conventional paper pulp alternatives. This allows the driver to combine high-sensitivity with the structural integrity required to produce undistorted low frequencies at high output levels. The mechanical and electrical properties of the unit have been carefully optimised to allow extended low frequency output up to its rated power handling of 450 Watts (A.E.S continuous), with peak power handling in excess of 1800 Watts. The driver exhibits an average sensitivity of 98 dB and is best used in ported enclosures of 25 to 80 litres. |

The unit features a 4-inch voice coil immersed in a symmetric magnetic field and centralized by using two suspensions in a dual arrangement to maintain ultra linearity and stability at high excursions. The heavily ribbed straight-sided paper cone membrane is reinforced with high-strength composite fi bres to resist deformation under extreme loads. The driver handles 800 Watts (E.I.A.) continuous and can cope with peaks in excess of 3200 Watts. This is due to advanced thermal management in the form of a vented die-cast chassis and motor system using an internal heatsink coupled to a large vaned heatsink mounted on the rear of the unit. These measures effectively remove heat from the voice coil resulting in extremely low-power compression. The Colossus 15XB is designed for use in 70 to 150 litre ported enclosures. |

The Colossus 18-1500 is intended to be used by the serious sub-bass lover. This High output driver can be used singly or as part of a larger multiway system. It is suitable for loading in a variety of enclosures types since it allows enclosure designers considerably more freedom with specialised loading techniques without having to make allowances for physical characteristics or power handling limitations. The unit features a 4-inch four layer voice coil made of copper-cladaluminium wire immersed in a symmetric magnetic fi eld and is centralised by using two (D.L) Suspensions in a dual alignment confi guration to maintain ultra linearity and stability at extreme excursions. The curvilinear Polycellulose cone is reinforced with high strength Fibrillated Nylon fibres to resist deformation under extreme loads. This coupled with a large Xmax of 12.75mm ensures the driver will deliver rock solid sub bass at extraordinary high levels of excursion. The driver handles 1500 Watts (A.E.S) continuous and can cope with peaks in excess of 5700 watts. This is due to the advanced thermal management in the form of a vented die-cast chassis coupled with increased motor system and voice coil venting. The Colossus 18-1500 exhibits 97.5 dB sensitivityand has a working bandwidth of 25Hz to 200Hz. |
